A genuine mediation tool, this immersive audio tour takes visitors to the "Raphael Experience" exhibition at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille, Italy, in the footsteps of the artist, from his apprenticeship years to the height of his fame, as an invitation to listen in order to better see.
For the first time, the museum reveals its entire priceless Raphael collection. Complemented by remarkable loans from the Musée du Louvre, the Royal Collection Trust and the National Gallery in London, as well as the Musée Thyssen-Bornemisza in Madrid and the Galleria Nazionale dell'Umbria in Perugia, the exhibition, co-produced with the GrandPalaisRmn, retraces the artist's extraordinary itinerary between three city-states of Renaissance Italy: Perugia, Florence and Rome.
The latest of the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille's "augmented" exhibitions, Expérience Raphaël, like its predecessors, includes digital features such as a virtual exploration of the Vatican's Signatures Room, a digital reconstruction of the painting La Pala Baronci - now almost entirely destroyed - and an immersive sound journey with 11 commentaries on the works by Unendliche Studio (in French and English).
Working in close collaboration with the team at the Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille, and taking into account the content transmitted and mediation objectives, author David Sanson has written a theatrical fiction carried by the voices of 2 actors of Italian origin. A dialogue ensues between Isabella D'Este and Baldassare Castiglione, contemporaries of Raphael. The soundscapes and original music created by Eddie ladoire plunge the listener into the sound, human and natural environment of the Renaissance, linked to the contents developed and the geographical spaces crossed by the artist.

The "Raphael Experience" exhibition is organized by the Palais des Beaux-Arts / Ville de Lille, in coproduction with the GrandPalaisRmn, in scientific collaboration with the Ministère de la Culture / Centre de Recherche et de Restauration des Musées de France and with the support of the Région Hauts-de-France and the Métropole Européenne de Lille. It is made possible thanks to the principal patronage of the Fondation Crédit Mutuel Nord Europe, the patronage of the Fondation Engie and the support of Arte Generali. It is produced in partnership with Télérama, Radio Classique, Arte, Public Sénat and Histoire TV, as well as Ilévia and TGV Inoui / SNCF Voyageur.
