A podcast about RUGBY but not only...
Hugh Chalmers, a New Zealander who has lived in France for several years, first spent ten seasons with Union Bordeaux Bègles before ending his career in Brittany with RC Vannes during the COVID-19 containment period. In 2020, he joins Biarritz Olympique as forwards coach for the Espoirs team. As for Eddie Ladoire, for the past 20 years he has been developing projects based on sound and listening. A rugby enthusiast, he has already created exhibitions and sound compositions around the sport.
At a time when the whole world is facing Covid-19 and the world of sport is at a standstill, the project combining sport and sound by the two enthusiasts takes on even more meaning: No more matches in stadiums or on television, no more matches, competitions postponed, rugby schools and training centers closed, it was necessary to keep this sport alive against all odds and give a voice to the people who make up the great rugby family. Hugh Chalmers has decided to share the encounters he has made throughout his career as a professional player, and to create new ones by offering a series of podcasts.
As well as highlighting the sporting achievements of French and international players, this podcast also gives the floor to all those with a link to the sport: committed volunteers, promising rugby school students, experienced coaches, a film director, a former player turned director of a contemporary art center who discusses the links between art and sport, art and the body, a sports doctor, captains of women's teams or handi rugby.
Together, they represent the great rugby family.
